The 10th Annual UNA-USA MUN Conference

Registration Fees and Deadlines

At this time, the 2009 UNA-USA Model UN conference registration is now closed. We are, however, accepting schools on our waitlist. Traditionally, we are able to accommodate a large percentage of the schools on our waiting list, as other school’s numbers of delegates change.

To be added to the waitlist for the 2009 UNA-USA Model UN conference, please send a message to unausamun@unausa.org with the following information:

Name of School with City and State
Contact information for Model UN advisor
Number of Delegates you would like to bring
Number of Advisors accompanying delegates
Up to 8 country assignment preferences.

You will receive an email within 48 hours confirming your inclusion on the conference waitlist. Please note that no other methods of communication will be considered valid for registration purposes.

Registration for the UNA-USA Model UN Conference is open to all interested secondary and high schools in the United States and overseas.

Country Selection and Country Matrix

On your registration form, indicate which countries your school would like to represent at the conference. UNA-USA does its best to assign each school at least one requested country, but we cannot guarantee country or committee assignments. In the event that we are unable to assign you one of your preferred countries, you may also request specific regions your school is interested in representing.

Click here to see the breakdown of countries by region.

Please consult the country matrix before registering to ensure the countries you are requesting have the same number of delegate assignments as the number of students you plan on bringing to the conference. Indicating preference for lesser known countries is appreciated and increases the likelihood of being assigned a country of preference.

Fee Structure

School Fee

The non-refundable school fee is required for all schools to be considered registered for the UNA-USA Model UN Conference. This fee is due no later than January 6th.

School Fee: $125

Late payment will result in an invalid registration form, and your school will not be considered registered to attend the conference or receive country assignments.

Delegate Fee $80 per delegate
Additional Chaperone Fee $50 per additional chaperone.
One advisor is admitted for free for every ten delegates. Any additional adults attending beyond the 1:10 ratio (in any capacity) must be included as an additional chaperone on the registration form. (For example, 10 students = 1 chaperone free; 11 students = 2 chaperones for free; 21 students = 3 chaperones for free, etc.)

Payment Methods

After hitting “submit” on the front page of the registration form, the page will direct you to the payment section of the form. Fees may be paid in one of two ways:

1. By credit card – This is the default option on the form.
2. By check – To select this option, click on the drop down menu and select “Pay by Fax/Mail”. The form will still be submitted to UNA-USA Model UN conference organizers. The check must be made out to “UNA-USA” and include the name of the conference in the “memo” section of the check. Checks need to be mailed to the following address:

UNA-USA
Attn: Karla Fuentes
801 Second Avenue
2nd Floor
New York, NY 10017

Regarding Credit Card Payment

At the bottom of the registration form, you will be prompted to enter payment information. If you are paying by credit card, but only want to pay the $125 school fee at this time, then please enter a 1 in the school fee box. Enter zeros for the remainder of the boxes.

NYC Dept. of Education Vendor Number

For schools that are part of the New York City Department of Education: UNA-USA is registered with the New York City DOE as a vendor. Many of you need this number in order to make payments for the Model UN conference this spring.

Our vendor number is: 131623884.

Please see the Sole Source Vendor Letter, for processing of payments.

Maximum Delegation Size

In order to ensure fair participation to as many schools as possible, the delegation-size cap is 32 students per school.

Registration Contact Information

Since schools will be financially responsible for information provided during registration, we ask that only faculty advisors fill out the form. Please do not put down contact information for an individual who is a minor.
