UNA-USA Calls for Action on Ratifying Treaties

March 31 - The United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) today called on the Senate and the Obama Administration to move quickly to ratify international agreements that safeguard peace, security, human rights and the environment. Observing that the U.S. poor record on treaty ratification has increasingly isolated the country from the growing world wide codification of international norms and from our democratic allies in particular, the Association called for a concerted effort to review and accept the many outstanding treaties that serve America’s interest and values. UNA-USA and Korea University Sign 5-Year Book Contract

March 25 – The United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) is pleased to announce a five-year agreement between UNA-USA and Korea University to jointly publish UNA-USA’s annual book, “A Global Agenda: Issues Before the UN.” Read the full statement.

UNA-USA announces the appointment of A. Edward Elmendorf as its new president. He succeeds Thomas J. Miller.
 
MARCH 17, 2010- The United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) is pleased to announce that A. Edward Elmendorf became the new president of the organization as of March 16, 2010. Elmendorf brings 40 years of experience to the post as an international and national civil servant.
