Annual Awards Applications Now Available!
Do you know a young professional who has proven to be a strong leader in your Chapter? Does your Chapter excel at using media to teach Americans about the United Nations? Is there a long serving individual in your Chapter that deserves a lifetime achievement award? If so, nominate them for an Annual Award from UNA-USA! The CCR-SC will distribute three awards at the Annual Meeting.
All applications are due by email on April 15, 2013. Applications may be emailed to Laura Giroux, membership director. Please contact Laura with questions about the Annual Awards Program.
International Women’s Day is One Week Away!
 International Women’s Day, March 8, 2013, is next week and we want to hear how your Chapter is recognizing this very important day. Please let us know what you are doing in your local community to celebrate International Women’s Day this year. Contact Tanisha Dyall at tdyall@unausa.org to secure a speaker for an event and to post your event on the national calendar. Is your event already planned? Still not sure how to celebrate International Women’s Day? Plan a screening of the film Girl Rising in your community, or, if you’re in the New York area, attend CSW side events hosted by the Council of Organizations on March 5 and UNA Women on March 8.
Leo Nevas Human Rights Task Force Submits Human Rights Council Recommendations to John Kerry
Last week, UNA-USA’s Leo Nevas Human Rights Task Force submitted recommendations to newly appointed U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry for bold initiatives the U.S. should pursue during its second term on the United Nations Human Rights Council. The Task Force developed the recommendations during a first-ever workshop it convened on the topic of the UN Human Rights Council held on February 11. Read more >>
Submit Your Chapter's 2012 Annual Report
For the second year, the UNA-USA Membership Team is creating Chapter reports that include in-depth statistics and information on trends in membership, events, advocacy, and more. The data for these reports will be pulled from your 2012 Annual Reports. The information from these reports helps us learn how we can better support you in the future! The completed report will also give you valuable insight in how you can increase your Chapter's capacity. All Chapters are required to complete annual reports per their affiliation agreements. Annual reports may be submitted online and are due by March 15. View an example of last year’s results.

Have you heard from your Regional Representative? Regional Reps are contacting all Chapters over the next two weeks. It is important that you maintain regular communication with your Regional Representatives. All Regional Representative contact information is available on our website.

The 2013 Renewal cycle is well under way. Members with a March 31, 2013 expiration date will receive their 2013 renewal reminders very shortly! As a reminder, please see the schedule for distributing renewal notices.

- One month out: Direct Mail Invoice
- Two weeks out: Email Renewal Notice
- 30 days after expiration: Email Renewal Notice
