June 9, 2012
The United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) today relaunched www.unausa.org and www.theinterdependent.com as new gateways for Americans to connect with the vital work of the United Nations. Visitors to the UNA-USA site will be able to connect with the educational, informational, and advocacy efforts of the more than 11,000 members and 120 Chapters across the U.S. The refreshed site for UNA-USA's online newsmagazine The InterDependent (ID) features new content and a new look, with stories from The InterDependent's prominent corps of writers on topics such as human rights, global health, and peacekeeping.

Both sites feature an enhanced focus on social media, so visitors can share their experience with their online networks through outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+. The new sites show users the work UNA-USA members perform every day in support of the UN including, Chapter events, advocating their elected officials, and engaging students and young professionals in international affairs.

"The new websites serve as a prime source for UNA-USA members and citizens to receive insiders' access to the UN, as well as real-time news and information on this vital world body," said UNA-USA Executive Director Patrick Madden. "The new unausa.org reflects the strength and vitality of UNA-USA member network and the far-reaching support for the UN across the country."

The new unausa.org will allow visitors to learn more about how they can become a member of UNA-USA, put on a Model UN conference in their community, take advocacy actions on the UN, and much more. The new UNA-USA and InterDependent sites include a number of new and improved features, such as content specifically tailored to UNA-USA members, videos and photos, content from the UN Dispatch and UN Wire publications, and ways to connect with campaigns from UNA-USA's sister organization, the United Nations Foundation.
