Pre-Members' Day Briefings

The following meetings will take place on Thursday, February 16 prior to UNA-USA Members' Day:

a. NGO Open House (REGISTRATION CLOSED), 3:30-5:30 pm at Baruch College. Instead of asking “what do you want to do?”; we’re asking “what problem do you want to solve?” Nonprofit organizations (to be announced) will speak and answer questions about how their work supports the UN and how you can get involved. You can also learn about their career path. A networking reception from 5:30-7 pm will follow the event.

b. Adopt-A-Future Information Session (REGISTRATION CLOSED), 4 pm at UN Foundation Office.  Come hear from Hamdia Ahmed, a University of S. Maine student and a Somalian refugee who lived the first 7 years of her life in the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya, and learn how you or your chapter can participate in the Adopt-A-Future campaign to raise funds to support refugee education.

c. UNA Women/LGBT Affinity Group Networking Session. Sign-up here for an informal reception at the UNA-USA/UN Foundation NY Office February 16, 6:00-7:30PM (EST) to learn more about staying active through the UNA-Women and UNA-LGBT affinity groups. Light refreshments will be available and all are welcome but please register in advance as space is limited. For any questions, please contact Ryan Kaminski at rkaminski@unausa.org.
