UNA-USA 2017 Leadership Summit Award Nominations are now open!

 

These awards recognize the great work accomplished by UNA chapters and/or members over the past year. Award categories are as listed below. 2017 Earl W. Eames, Jr. Communications Award

The Earl W. Eames, Jr. Communications Award is presented by the UNA-USA National Council to a UNA-USA Chapter or Division that has demonstrated innovation in communications. The Award is a tribute to the late Earl W. Eames, Jr., former chair of the CCR-SC and President of UNA of Minnesota. Eames was appointed to positions with UNIDO, UNDP and the World Bank.  He always demonstrated excellence in encouraging others to support the important work of the United Nations.

2017 Arnold Goodman Life-time Achievement Award

The Arnold Goodman Award is presented by the UNA-USA National Council to recognize and encourage outstanding longtime volunteer leadership among the chapters and divisions of UNA-USA. The Award is a tribute to the late Arnold Goodman of Wisconsin who, by his example and service as chair of the then Council of Chapter and Division Presidents and in other capacities, set a standard of excellence and commitment to the work of UNA-USA.

2017 Campus Chapter Excellence Award

The United Nations Association of the United States of America is will be presenting the Campus Chapter Excellence Award to honor outstanding campus chapters of UNA-USA that have actively participated in chapter projects and initiatives identified with the goals of UNA-USA. The Award recognizes campus chapters who exemplify excellence and commitment in the areas of service, education, and leadership.

2017 Global Young Achievement Award

The Global Young Achievement Award recognizes young professionals whose accomplishments demonstrate personal initiative and commitment to the United Nations and UNA-USA.  Past Global Young Advocate Awardees have been recognized because of their volunteer activities, workplace initiatives, and social endeavors.  They have inspired others to support the United Nations and create meaningful change. The young professional who receives the Global Young Achievement Award will have their 2017 Annual Meeting registrations fees waived to enable the award winner to participate fully in the conference.

2017 Well-Worn Advocate Award

The 2017 Well-Worn Advocate Award is presented by the UNA-USA National Council to honor either the Chapters or individuals that have demonstrated excellence in advocating for support of the United Nations on both the State and National Level. The Award recognizes UNA-USA Chapters or individual members that have actively particpated in and have exemplified commitment in the area of advocacy for the United Nations.

2017 UNA-USA Education Programs Award

The UNA-USA Education Programs Award recognizes outstanding individuals who have demonstrated a commitment and passion for educational inclusivity. Recipients are recognized for furthering Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, Quality Education, by promoting and using the Model UN App curriculum to engage a diversity of stakeholders in educational activities that raise awareness about the work of the United Nations, teach global competence and support the nation’s agenda with preparing college and career ready students.
