Global Classrooms: New Delhi Model UN Conference |
Global Classrooms New Delhi encompassed schools from every state in India and beyond. A consortium of 114 schools across India and 13 schools outside of India, the program aims at "preparing global citizens and agents of social change committed to humanistic values and democratic traditions." With Global Classrooms New Delhi's premier partner, DPS R.K. Puram, the program has reached approximately 90% of all DPS students. 125 schools participated in their 5th Global Classrooms Model UN Conference last year, with students from every state of India as well as Kuwait, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and the UK in attendance. In addition, conference opening ceremonies included an opportunity to engage with former president of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Talks with India's Ministry of Education are underway to determine if Global Classrooms can be instituted at the National level.
