About Global Classrooms: Mexico City

Since 2005, Global Classrooms: Mexico City has served over 30 schools and 1300 students. Global Classrooms is partnered with MUN Consulting, A.C., a civil association created by experienced, local Model UN leaders and participants. To assist teachers and students in the classroom workshops, MUN Consulting, A.C., provides Global Classrooms translated materials. For the past four years, students from Mexico City have partipated in the UNAUSAMUN conference held at UN Headquarters.

In the case of Mexico, during the last few years a pilot form of the program has been taking place in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon with High Schools students. Global Classrooms has been instrumental in the preparation of these young delegates, and with the kind sponsorship of The National Geographic Foundation the students have participated in two conferences of the Model United Nations in Washington, D.C.

For the upcoming year, the nature of the Mexico program is changing from focusing in one school to  something more abrasive and
