UNA-USA would like to thank everyone for a successful Model UN Conference. Thank you to United Nations Association of National Capital Area and US State Department, the conference staff, faculty advisors, and the students.

Highlights from the 2009 Global Classrooms Model UN Conference

  • Over 600 middle school and high school students from the District of Columbia Public and District of Columbia Charter Public Schools;
  • Hosted at the US State Department;
  • Staffed by university students and volunteers from Georgetown University, The George Washington University, Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, US State Department, and local
  • Topics discussed included Preventing Nuclear Terrorism, Human Rights of Female Refugees, Children in Armed Conflict, and Globalization and Interconnectedness.
