Highlights from the 2009 Global Classrooms Model UN Conference - Over 600 middle school and high school students from the District of Columbia Public and District of Columbia Charter Public Schools;

- Staffed by university students and volunteers from Georgetown University, The George Washington University, Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, US State Department, and local
- Topics discussed included Preventing Nuclear Terrorism, Human Rights of Female Refugees, Children in Armed Conflict, and Globalization and Interconnectedness.
