Global Classrooms®: ChicagoThe Chicago Public Schools is the nation’s third-largest school system. It includes more than 600 schools and approximately 409,000 students. (Elementary Schools (483), High Schools (116), and Charter Schools (56))
The Chicago Board of Education has enacted reform continually for the past 15 years and created a diverse array of schools and educational programs. In 2002, Chicago added Global Classrooms® to the list of innovative programs offered in its public schools. Global Classrooms has enhanced Chicago's curriculum by bringing essential skills in global literacy and leadership to public school students. Due to the amount of research, articulation, and synthesis skills used in meeting the demands of the course, it is offered as an Honors course in many of the classrooms.
Global Classrooms has a flexible curriculum that can be used for Regular, Special Ed, Inclusion and Honors. Because it has a course number, it can be used for an elective, honors, or regular high school credit.
