Dr. Michael Cairo will address the Frankfort Chapter of the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) on Monday, January 28, at the Paul Sawyier Public Library at 6:30 p.m. He will focus on the "American Presidents and the United Nations in the Post-Cold War World."

Dr. Michael Cairo is an Associate Professor of Political Science and director of the International Affairs program at Transylvania University in Lexington.

His first book, The Gulf: The Bush Presidencies and the Middle East, published in November 2012, is the inaugural book in the University Press of Kentucky series on Conflict, Diplomacy, and Peace.

Bill Miller, President of the Frankfort Chapter UNA, said, "The United States and the UN are the most important players in providing leadership and promoting peace and economic development in dangerous areas of the world, especially the Middle East."

The Frankfort Chapter UNA is launching its 32nd year of providing free international education programs to the community. The meeting is free and open to the public.
