With over 125 chapters and divisions across the country the United Nations Association of the USA’s Council of Chapters and Divisions and the National Membership staff carry out programs and campaigns at the regional and national levels through a combination of public outreach, policy analysis, fundraising, events and international dialogue. As the primary liaison between headquarters and the association’s grassroots members, the membership team is persistently working to empower local efforts by providing strategic planning, resources and best practice sharing.

Council of Chapters and Divisions

All chapter and division presidents belong to the Council of Chapters and Divisions (CCD), whose purpose is to facilitate communication among chapters and divisions, to assist with their activities, and to provide a forum for chapter and division leaders to meet.

The CCD has an elected 30-person Steering Committee composed of two representatives and one director from each of the nine UNA-USA Regions plus the Young Professionals for International Cooperation. Chapters and divisions and their presidents have an important role in setting the course of the Association. The ten CCD directors are also members of the Association’s 45-person Board of Directors. The CCD meets annually for substantive programs, skills workshops, and business meetings and serves as an essential communication link between and among the chapters, divisions, and national office.
