Northern Illinois Model United Nations Conference (NIMUN)Friday, November 30, 2012 Location: Chicago History Museum in Chicago, Illinois, United States Hosting/Sponsoring Organization: Chicagoland M.U.N. Club Date(s): November 30, 2012 Education Level: Middle School/Junior High Number of Participants: Less than 100 School/Delegation Fee: None Student/Delegate Fee: $30.00 Other Fees: $5 per Advisor/Chaperone (we require 1 advisor for every 10 students) About the ConferenceNIMUN is the largest active M.U.N. conference for middle school students held in the Chicago area. What began as a club fundraising project exceeded our expectations: over 60 students attended, and our opening ceremonies featured guest speaker Victor Lang, Managing Director of the Model United Nations Development Organization. For highlights of NIMUN I, check out this article: http://bit.ly/HOSRe9. NIMUN II promises to be even better, with more curricular materials and pre-conference training workshops. We remain committed to the values promoted by M.U. N., including global awareness and activism, and we look forward to working with the attending students to help them hone their skills like cooperative conflict resolution, writing and research, and public speaking. Our goal is to provide the opportunity for middle school students to participate in a M.U.N. conference, build their appetites for international relations, and discover their capacity to become active global citizens.CommitteesDisarmament and International Security CommitteeSecurity Council World Health Organization U.S. Cabinet (United States National Security Council) - Historical, 1962
