International Experiences: How They Changed Our World View

A group of women will share how international experiences have influenced their outlook on roles and involvement in global issues as well as their observations regarding empowerment of individuals who were previously unconcerned with and uninvolved in positive change. They will also touch on opportunities that may not have been available to them at earlier times.  Participants include:

  • Ewen Wang, a Stanford physician who has recently worked in Borneo with the organization Health in Harmony
  • Ana Sofia and Lucia Amieva-Wang, two young sisters whose summer experience abroad had a far reaching impact
  • Vijji de Datta who has moved through several cultures from classical dance and movie stardom in India to her current position teaching accounting at Woodland Community College.
  • Nicola Hil, a California State employee whose career choice was heavily influenced by a year’s study abroad
Members and the general public are invited to come and hear what are certain to be interesting and inspiring presentations with personal perspectives and insights into how society has changed, can change or needs to change.  There will be refreshments.
