Janet Ross

Janet Ross, artist, works in studios in East Hampton and in Jamaica, West Indies. Her media are watercolors, oils, or acrylics, on subjects that include interiors, landscapes, still-life's, and portraits.

Her work is owned by various collectors. Worthy of note are: an aerial view of the Enid Haupt Conservatory, fronted by the Perennial and Herb Gardens, at the New York Botanical Garden; a portrait of Hon. William J. vanden Heuvel, which hangs in the Roosevelt Library at Hyde Park; a portrait of Dr. Jerome de Cosse for the East Hampton Health Care Foundation; and a picture of the Blair House Garden, which hangs in Blair House, Washington, D.C. (presidential guesthouse).

Ross is a board member and honorary trustee for the American Museum of Natural History, a board member and life trustee for Central Park Conservancy, and a board member for Blair House, the Municipal Art Society in New York, the New York Botanical Garden, the East Hampton Library, the Seventh Regiment Armory Conservancy, and the Rockefeller University Council. She also belongs to the Century Association in New York, as well as the Colony Club and Metropolitan Club.
