Johnson & Johnson
For their steadfast commitment to global health and the United Nations in their business activities

jj
For more than 125 years, Johnson & Johnson has made life-changing, long-term differences in the health of women, children and families. Inspired by the responsibilities outlined in “Our Credo” and a long heritage of giving, Johnson & Johnson mobilizes the strengths of its people, products and philanthropy to respond to the needs of women and children in places where resources are most scarce.

Johnson & Johnson’s giving priorities align with its unique capacity and urgent health needs, including saving and improving the lives of women and children, building the skills of those who serve community health needs and preventing disease and reducing stigma. Johnson & Johnson fulfills its mission through more than 600 enduring, collaborative partnerships in more than 85 countries.

The United Nations Foundation has worked closely with Johnson & Johnson, predominantly on women and children’s health. In September 2010, Johnson & Johnson made a landmark corporate commitment to women’s and children’s health through a $200 million pledge to the UN Secretary-General’s Every Woman Every Child (EWEC) initiative. One example of Johnson & Johnson’s commitments to EWEC is its effort to leverage mobile technology to provide critical health information to new and expectant mothers.

Last year, Johnson & Johnson became the first corporate partner to the UN’s H4+ partnership of agencies that deal with helping governments around the world meet the health-related Millennium Development Goals.

Headquartered in New Brunswick, NJ, Johnson & Johnson is one of the global leaders in health care. Its nearly 128,000 employees at more than 250 Johnson & Johnson companies work with partners in healthcare to touch the lives of over a billion people every day, throughout the world.
