Convention Wrap Up
Some 250 members of the United Nations Association of the USA attended the 2007 National Convention from February 28 to March 4, 2007. Members participated in a number of panel and briefing sessions on timely global issues, such as the crisis in Darfur and nuclear nonproliferation, and were able to hear firsthand from staff how to use new media tools to grow their chapters, how to help implement the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) at the local level and how to best work with the new Congress. In addition, Members Day at the UN, part of the convention activities, gave attendees a chance to hear directly from UN officials and experts on current human rights and peacekeeping efforts.
